"A LOGO DERIVES MEANING FROM THE QUALITY OF THE THING IT SYMBOLIZES, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND."
- PAUL RAND

If there is one thing I'd be happy doing for the rest of my life it would be making logos. I have an endless obsession with branding and the full process behind it. From a simple sketch on a coffee shop napkin to a full-fledged iconic symbol, the process of constructing logos is just so exciting.

Not every project is a big one and the smaller projects are often the ones that teach us and shape our skills the most. This is without a doubt true for me and the logos seen in this showcase. Some of the marks included have had full projects made behind the scenes and some are just apart of my constant exploration and development of my skills.

My focus when making the majority of these icons is elegance, minimalism, and balance. Read the description under each mark for the story and/or purpose behind it.

LOGOFOLIO

NULO Music Systems

In my senior year of high school, myself, as well as a few friends, decided to brand our own music streaming app. Music has always been a big part of my life and I knew I could lend my skills and create a simple yet unique word-mark my much more talented music-making friends could use.

Trident Insurance Company

Over the years I've made a number of logos for fictitious companies myself or a group of my friends come up with. Although Trident Insurance isn't a real company if it was, rest assured they're getting a strong and symmetrical logo.

APEX Camping Service

One thing you'll find a lot of in this catalog is fun company ideas that I believe I can make an awesome icon for. The representation of a match, with the subtle inclusion of the letter 'A' just worked so well and if I was looking to add some camping gear to my already large, very "Colorado" assortment, I'd be looking for stuff with a logo like this on it.

CROWN Type Study

Another thing I love doing is challenging myself with minimalist word-mark type studies. Now we can all agree that a crown and a 'W' work pretty well to be interchanged.

WORLD Type Study

Often times an idea pops right into my head at the most random moments. In this case, I couldn't tell you if I tried when and where I came to the realization a semi-circle can symbolize both the beautiful curve of the Earth as well as an 'O'.

ABCD Type Study

At this point I haven't jumped into the world of making full typesets but you can best believe if i do that font will most likely look like this. Minimal, fun and just perfect.

Paint Art Gallery

When my high school was opening a gallery highlighting some of the best work the students and alumni have created over the years I knew I needed to jump into that logo competition. Although the gallery isn't open anymore, it's one of the most unique logos I've ever made.

LION Icon

While I haven't found a use for this icon, I can't wait to find the perfect place in my personal or in a client's needs to use this minimalistic line art of a lion. Maybe I just need a couple of piece-unique t-shirts to add to my closet.

ALPINE Snowboard Stickers

I wouldn't be a Colorado kid unless I spend a few days of the year up on the mountain. Every snowboarder needs to have a couple of slick stickers to slap all over his or her gear. I love the mountains and any excuse to make a logo with some mountains in it, I'm on board.

AMERIAIR Flight Club

Probably one of the coolest projects I did in my first year in college. The brief was to create a modern brand for a company completely outside of our interests. I don't know how often airline companies are created, but if AmeriAir existed and I was in charge I'd be sure to make the graphics for the whole company look good.

Grey Balloon Production Studio

Maybe it''s because I tell almost every person I come across that I work in graphic design, I've had a number of good friends of mine come to me to make their unique business idea visually impressive. It's a 'G' and it's a Balloon, get it. I can't wait to see some of the films my good friend makes with this logo in the beginning credits.

Kenetic Fashion

I'm lucky enough to have surrounded myself with a bunch of visionaries with a passion for startups. Kenetic Fashion specializes in one-on-one style consultation and fashion advice. Clean, modern, elegant and refined I could make logos for brands like this all day.

Entity Esports

I probably spent a little to much time in my high school years playing video games, and when my friends and I got really into it we needed to have a strong and memorable logo to represent the mood we brought into each game.

Letter 'M' Concept

Some logos don't really have a story. This one is just an 'M'. It's my initial and throughout my exploration of my personal logo there were a few that I loved so much.

Aaron Savard Photography

Once again, I'm so lucky to have such a diverse group of friends who all seem to need a logo to get their own business off and running. Aaron takes some of my favorite photographs I've ever seen and the sharpness of this mark represents his style and personality perfectly.

Letter 'V' Concept

Another logo with no crazy story. Just one of my favorite line art styles brought to life. My mission for becoming a great logo designer is all about exploration and this is just one stop along the way.

Patrick Brouder

I've met a lot of people in my years working online, and Patrick is one of my greatest friends. Patrick has gone on to be a successful photographer and editor for the Cleavland Cavilers and a logo like this represents his personality and strength so well.

Blue Sky Insurance

There were only a few design challenges that came my way while in my last year in high school. When they did, I knew I had to step it up. Blue Sky wanted to update their logo with a much more modern and elegant icon. Look forward to seeing a full project feature for the company soon!

Lion Logo Concept

Almost as much as I like making logos, I love making t-shirts. When my Church was looking to add a powerful and fun logo to their t-shirt catalog I was eager to give it a go.

DermaScan Dermatology AI

A coworker of mine who has become a great friend spends a lot of his time conceptualizing a bunch of side hustles. Of course, he knows I work in graphic design and was excited to work with me on branding his latest venture. Lookout to see a full project feature in collaboration with him on my website soon.
